Emperor Menelik II Tee
Emperor of Ethiopia. Victor of Adwa. King of Kings.
$44.99
In 1896, Europe had divided almost all of Africa, and Italy marched on Ethiopia expecting an easy victory. Emperor Menelik II called his nation to war, and around 100,000 soldiers answered. At the Battle of Adwa, with Empress Taytu Betul at his side, he defeated the invading army and kept Ethiopia free. The green, gold, and red of the land he defended went on to inspire flags across the continent.
Wear the king who said no to colonization. The Menelik II Legacy Tee has two sides.
The front shows Menelik in his lion mane headdress with spear and shield, under a golden sun.
The back carries his crest: the shield and crossed spears of Adwa in front of the mountains where the battle was won, with KING OF KINGS and his reign, 1889 to 1913.
Built to be worn and lived in. This tee is soft enough for daily wear, heavyweight enough to hold its structure, and cut with a relaxed, classic fit that layers easily under a jacket or stands on its own.
